Yoga for pregnant woman


Yoga exercises are certainly recommended for women of child bearing age and pregnancy, keeping some cautions in mind. If a pregnant woman seeks childbirth without fear, then she should practice s few poses for a few minutes every day. The postures suggested, are also especially recommended for those suffering from urinary disorders even after pregnancy. With these yogic exercises the pelvic region, the abdomen and the back get a plentiful supply of blood and are stimulated. They keep the kidneys, the prostate and the urinary bladder healthy. Poses like vajrasana, yoga mudra, yoga mudra in vajrasana are especially good for those who are due. The postures coupled with sarvangasana check not only irregular menstrual periods but also helps the ovaries to function properly. It has been found that pregnant women practicing a few yogic techniques will have less pain during delivery and will be free of varicose veins.

Exercises during pregnancy (continued)


The neck exercise is also an important exercise to be considered. One has to stand straight and keep the hands in the waist. Then one has to move the neck left and right and then up and down firmly. The steps should be done for about 5 minutes such that you will get relaxed. Then the next exercise is for the lower back. One has to keep her hands straight with the legs closed and straight. After that she must bend in front slowly and touch the toes, it will be good if one hold the hands for some 5 to 7 seconds. Next exercise is for the thighs. The feet must be kept 3 to 5 feet apart, and then the foot should be touched with the opposite hands. It is better to swing and touch the opposite legs firmly.

Exercises during pregnancy


There are different exercises available to be done during the period of pregnancy. The various exercises are explained in this post. First one is the shoulder exercise, you may keep your hands on your shoulders with the elbow projected, with this position you may rotate your hands in both the directions. This can be done for about 5 minutes. One more exercise is there for the shoulder one can keep her hands on the side and shrug the shoulders in all the possible directions. The waist exercise is also an important one. In order to have your waist relaxed, you can perform two exercises; one can keep her hands in waist and bend the body backwards till you get some relaxation on your waist. One more exercise is keeping the hands in the waist and bend on the either side.

Things not to be done during pregnancy (continued)

A pregnant woman should not use electric blanket since usage of electric blankets give off low-level electromagnetic field which may be harmful to the developing baby then she should not use water bed because, the heaters used for water beds give off low-electric fields which is harmful to the developing embryo. The main point which is to be strictly followed is she should not be expose to pesticides and this is because pesticides can cause a variety of effects on the unborn baby depending on the type of chemical, length and intensity of exposure and age of the fetus.

Some other considerable things to be avoided are explained in this post. A pregnant woman should avoid fish. Consuming fish which contains methyl mercury can affect the developing child’s brain. The problem with junk food is that they fill up the stomach but does not provide any vitamins or proteins. As the stomach size decreases during pregnancy, junk foods occupy the room and prevent you from eating food which is needed for baby’s health. She should also avoid X-rays because exposure to X-rays may cause greatest effects in pregnant women. So, X-rays can be postponed until after pregnancy, which may eliminate the risk. And obviously, she should avoid Microwave because; exposure of Microwave radiation may cause serious effects to the developing fetus.
